Brian,
I tried several, but the one that worked the best (no RFI because no
wallwart) were the Altec Lansing VS2220.

I actually use my Pansonic SA-AK22 CD stereo system. I plug the output from
my D44 sound card into the AUX jack and have incredible sound coming from
the speakers, and no RFI. May be overkill but sure sounds great.

I recently built a 3 watt stereo amp from Carl's Electronics
(http://www.electronickits.com). For $17.95, it's a very good deal.
I put it in a simple metal enclosure and got nice audio, but am still
having some RF issues. I'm now planning to repackage it in a Hammond
box with bypassing on the
Forgot to ask if anyone knows the output impedance on the OUTS 1&2 of
the D-44. Just curious...

I wanted to ask the list members for a recommendation on an outboard
audio amp to drive a pair of nice speakers that has proven to be
resistant to RFI before I went out and bought something. I have
considered building a tube amp using a pair of 6V6's, or 6AQ5's in
push-pull output, but after prici
John,
Thanks for sharing this! I used to have a stepper motor control
system using software on the PC (via the parallel port), and if the
control software was not loaded the stepper control would pull
excessive current and burn up.

Last week the power went out for about an hour. When power
returned the SDR1000 was in a random state since the PC
doesn't restart until you make it reboot. Unfortunately,
the SDR energized the eight outputs on the EXT Control
Connector. I use the EXT control to switch six antenna
relays and
Hi Dave,
Could you please describe in more detail how you've
connected the relay and external diode to the X2
connector, and where power for the relay comes from?
That would help us understand what the cause of your
problem might be.
Thanks!

ks.sys is the kernel streaming driver. This is likely audio related. What
soundcard are you using? Are you using VAC? If so, which version?

One correction. For an XP Pro system, look for a date stamp of
4-Aug-2004. The file stamp below is for Win2k+3.

Chris,
What is the date stamp on the file stream.sys located in the
/windows/system32/drivers folder?
It could actually be the age of this file causing the problem. Make
sure its data stamp is younger than 30-Jan-2003. For XP, there is one
dated 24-March-2005 that you should be using.
If not,
