Bob,
Great news on the FLAC compression. I was listening to a SoftRock located in
Holland via the Internet recently and thinking how cool it would be if I could
access the I&Q streams and tune around in VK rather than just listening to the
set frequency or tuning it over the net.

First, nice job on the additions. For folks who are new, just about every

I'm no expert, but there's definitely a reinforced feedback loop in there

Remember that you can wire the PTT signal to the back panel too (X2-11) if
you do decide to split the audio and PTT signals from the mic.

Guys, we haven't found a mic yet that doesn't have sufficient gain to drive
the SDR. The key is in the "setup". During Field day we ran two SDRs with
Heil headsets, despite the contest nature we continually got unsolicited "
great audio" reports. I will be publishing a paper in the near future th

I have absolutely no problem with a public discussion
of users' concerns regarding my Console and Flex's
desire to incorporate some of my features into their
Console. In fact, I strongly encourage it: I believe
it would be to Flex's benefit to understand the

John,
Are you hearing this in the headphones? You might actually be hearing
the out of phase artifact of your head bones along with the audio you
hear coming from the headphones. You can try running the audio to a
recorder instead of the headphone to see if that is the case. I find
it difficult
Thanks for the suggestion, but that's not it... all the cables are well
seated (unless there's a defective cable). Also, I don't detect this
anomaly when I'm using PSK31 with the VAC, only when using the microphone.
Thanks,

Check to make sure the I/Q input cable (to line out) on the back of the
SDR1K is seated all the way in. Having it pop out a little bit can
cause the echo you are hearing.

Thanks for the assistance, John. I'm getting really close to solving
this problem. I rewired the cable and the hum is now gone. I'm not
sure exactly what I did wrong the last time around, but I'm pretty sure
that part is now good. The audio also sounds good both on the PowerSDR

Guys,
I use a single Behringer UB802 both as preamp for 2 Heil mics (GL and Pro
Set Plus headset) as well as an audio amplifier together with the Delta-44.
The mics are each connected to a microphone input on the UB802 and the
effects send (FX Send) output then goes to the Delta-44 In 3 via a 1
I had this problem using a sound card as input before and found that you
had to separate the grounds (mic and ptt); these can not be tied together.

I have been using the PowerSDR Console with my SDR-1000 on MARS. I
received the "extended.edf" file after sending a copy of my MARS license.
Unfortunately, the K6JCA console does not work on MARS, even with the
"extended.edf" file in its directory.
Any suggestions?

are lots of Flexers using GLs. It won't work properly is there is a

Gentlemen,
Everything suggested on the reflector with regard to John problem treats the
symptoms and not the root cause of the hum problem. The GL will work fine
plugged directly into the SDR mic jack but it must be wired properly-at both
