Well, I apologize for the bandwidth.
I don't know why, but when I upgraded to SVN 563 for some reason it messed up
the shuttlepro.
Did not happen when I had upgraded to SVN 562.
I reprogrammed it and all is well now.
Strange, but then agn, that is an often occurrance with me ... hihi.

My shuttlepro which worked perfectly w/ 1.6.2 and SVN 652 does not work as it
did w/ the latest SVN 653.
Anybody else notice this?

looking at USB and/or PCMCIA interfaces, I was wondering if anyone had
tried any of these:
Roland/Edirol UA-1EX 24bit/96kHz stereo in + stereo out and mic and

The mic just feeds both line in (with a buffer). Ditto with the

It's kind of weird, but at 96
José,
I experienced a similar problem with SVN 652 , and I found that under
Setup->Options my X2 delay was set to 1000 ms.
I hope this helps.

Eric,
Many thanks for adding the ability to see and change TX profiles from the
console in SVN 653. I can now easily tell why I am not "getting out" on SSB
when I have a 100 Hz PSK filter engaged. Talk about "pinched" audio! HI HI!

Hello Jerry,
I think ALC is greatly overrated. Wasn't it originally conceived as a
method to reduce splatter by preventing overdrive to an amplifier? Even at
that, it has problems because there is a delay between the time the alc
circuit detects overdrive and the time the transceiver reduce
Hi Friends
I am using SVN 653. When clicking mox or pressing the PTT, I note a
certain latency before the relay closes. I have not this behaviour with
previous builds. Anybody ?

I don't think there is a way to remove them. We can give them different
states, but I don't think the states make sense right now (for now they
match our bug tracking states). We'll get that worked out over time.

Although the Alpha amps have an output for ALC the manual
states that it is not recommended that it be used! It provides
limited protection to overdrive and was often set up improperly.
All in all, it does little good and can do a lot more "bad" when
not adjusted properly.

Thanks for changing the tuning rate selection ( SVN 653 ?? ) ... I was

By the way, how do I remove a feature request from the list once it has
been implemented ?

Good idea to disambiguate (love that word!) the controls. Just please,

Might not work with Amps having tuner built-in like my Quadra (if
tuner is used). Looks like LP-100 is meant to operate with a 50 ohm output amp.

UPDATE:
I contacted W8JI, who is an expert on amps, and asked would the ALC
have protected the amp for me when the coax connector failed. He said
it would NOT have helped in my catastrophic situation.
So apparently the ALC line is of limited usefulness, and probably can
be ignored without putt
I don't think ALC would help on an antenna/feedline failure. Most
amps have a tuned input that pretty much stays at a constant load for
the exciter regardless of the load the output of the amp is looking
at.
An SWR alarm or auto shutdown on the keyline to the amp WOULD
certainly help in case of h

I recently asked a similar question, Jerry, and was told that guys
running the SDR-1000 just don't use hardware ALC. Many who spoke up
said they never had any problem.
I once blew up the output circuit of an Amertron AL-1200 because it

Try this:
1. From your Windows Explorer (the File system explorer -- not Internet

2. Paste the following URL into the URL textbox on the small dialog box
