Guys I can't let this go by, The American Rat Race League is the only voice
of Ham radio. I am a life member cause it was only a couple of hundred
dollars in the 60's when I became one.
Please let it be known that the League has their own agenda, members.

I think it's great that Flex is keeping up with the times, and can't wait to
see the info on the SDR-5000.
The ARRL has been one of the promoters of SDR technology, especially
recently. I think they see the advantages, and the handwriting on the wall.

Thinkpads (and some other IBM computers) used 3A8 for the LPT1 printer port

use a lot of Thinkpads for programming while using the parallel port, and I
had to put in the option for which base address to use. I still have t
Now now John. The president of ARRL is a proud SDR-1000 owner and a
reader of this group. He and the technology task force and CTO for the
League have been staunch supporters of SDR and its implications. The
"SDR-5000" is no longer a real secret. I suspected it would not be a
secret from

I've just looked through the April QST again without seeing anything
about an SDR-5000. There doesn't seem to be a FlexRadio ad at all.

All,
I've been reviewing and updating the CAT software over the past few weeks.
I discovered that the old Kenwood FW command (selects or reads the DSP rx
filter width, non-SSB only) is really no longer applicable since we went to
mode-dependent filters. The ZZFI command has been updated to handle
You can use portmon to see what the parallel port is doing.

PowerSDR value. My first time using PowerSDR was with a thinkpad and the
default in the bios was nothing like any address I had ever seen, I changed the
value and it came right up

Hello, folks.
I've been working with the Flex-Radio guys trying to get my new SDR-1K

problem or hardware malfunction with the LPT port on the computer end
of the "radio". How can I verify that a port is operating properly in

I still haven't resolved my problem despite Eric's help.
I have an SDR1K with a built-in DEM 144MHz transverter. I use the
output of the 144 transverter to drive a 144MHz to 70MHz transverter.
So, I click on the 2 button of the Band Selection buttons, and the
second transverter inputs/outputs at
Hi Ken,
K2 is actuated when switching the sensitivity: Medium and High, Low and Off.
with RFE: in LOW and OFF there is no Resistor (or the cutoff resistor)
across the INA163 and the gain is 0dB or 1. In the Medium and High position
the Gain-Set-Resistor is 316 Ohms resulting in a gain of about 26
