Selling my Flex SDR-1000 100 watt transceiver to prepare for upcoming
SDR-5000. 6 months old, 18 months remaining on factory warranty. No
mods of any kind - cover never been off. Kept under dust cover since
new. Comes with everything as shipped by Flex. $1200 plus FEDEX. USA
only please.

I'm playing with Power SDR 1.8.0. No radio hardware.
Win XP Home + SP2 + all subsequent updates.
Under certain (unfortunately unreproducible) circumstances, when I
change the VFO A frequency (by typing a new frequency into the box), the
panadaptor display disappears, replaced by red diagonal

I presume that you have the Demo/None radio button selected..

Yes.
Also, as I am not using an external audio card, I have Unsupported
Card selected for Sound Card Selection.
A thought has just
No need to uninstall (although it does not hurt).
If using an unsupported sound card make sure AISO4ALL drivers are
loaded.

question
As I'm using the Edirol FA sound card for PowerSD
and VAC and not the Audigy, for digital, do I still need ASIO4AL on my
computer?

Ian,
No real need to un-install version 1.6, but I would recommend to create a
new database and not import the old database from 1.6 until you find out
what is going on. Just as a point of reference, you can create a
No. The FA-66 has its own ASIO driver that is automatically installed.
ASIO4ALL is only for unsupported sound cards of which the FA-66 is not
one of them.

Is the warning still applicable with the later SDR X svn after 1189?
Has the potential problem been solved?
If I use the later SDR-X svn such as svn 1194 am I still running the risk of
harming my beloved SDR1000?

Crit,
The standard Alpha software warning stands as usual. But we have given the
new clipping code a workout and it appears to work fine.

SDR1000 has not crashed and burned. The NR really works great in SVN-X.
Thanks Bob!

I would suggest monitoring the TX Meter set to Mic. Make sure that your
input is not exceeding 0dB. Other than that, it would have to be a display
level calibration issue.
