John, Gerald and All,
John is right about the commercial broadcast like frequency response
of the SDR-1000 transmitter.
Instead of John's statement about the traditional amateur radios, I
would like to say that in their frequency response basses are already
somewhat attenuated, which means that
The CWX utility keys the radio like a common morse key, not dot and
dash side, just an on/off key. When you use the paddles you must use
the built in iambic keyer. If you have to reverse the paddles and
don't want to do that reverse the dot and dash wiring on your paddles.

My radio computer is down at the moment, so can't do screen shots.
But the setup is really easy. In the vCom control panel I have only
the top row checked in the center box. On the left I have COM3, and
on the right COM13.
After setting that click UPDATE DRIVER at the bottom. That will open

Jerry,
There several different flavors of pin outs for the different models of
radio from a particular manufacturer that you listed below. The closest
this pin out match is Yaesu, but it is not 100% pin compatible since the
FLEX-5000 only needs pins for PTT and the mic input where other
Thanks for the responses, equipment has been sold.

All,
here is my 2 cents...maybe slightly off topic
Being an Ex radio announcer and musician (guitar and bass) and sound
technician...I was thrown off years ago by the term punch from the old
timers in amateur radio.
Punch in sound reinforcement means mid bass Punch...like a kick drum
thru 15 and 18
PS
I run 7.209 from my home office in South Texas all day if anyone wants
to hear the Flex...It's on the bench about half the time...and is today
till probably Thursday when I have another rice box coming in to play with.
I am working so sometimes...even If I hear ya...I may be tied up..
Wanted to purchase Behringer DEQ2496. If you have one in good working
condition and want to sell it, I would like to speak with you about
purchasing it. Please Email your phone number and description. Thanks and

Nice package!
Maybe it's obvious from the pictures - is this the 1w or the 100w
SDR-1000? What other Flex boards make up the set you installed?
Was the power supply home-brewed - what are the details? I'm sure lots
of people would appreciate learning about and maybe emulating the
design.
Are there any other openings in Gotham city? Sounds like a nice job for
another peddler (or is it a joker)!

Up here I listen to AMers on the DX-60 net (3.88).
It's not unusual to hear good audio on rigs and
even some broadcast transmitters that have been
converted to 75 meters.
Every so often someone comes on with full-range
audio that catches my attention because it sounds
as if he's in the shack with
Hello,
This is the second email I am trying to send. I am not sure if it is
getting to the group.
If this works, I would like to know what is a good choice of speakers to
purchase for the up coming 5000?
Also in the last email I had asked if anyone knows of a way to stretch
the PowerSDR
There is an article in the KB on speakers. It is applicable to the
FLEX-5000.

No. PowerSDR is a fixed width program. To make it fill the screen,
lower your screen resolution.
