Hello all,
I had previously mentioned the Advanced Virtual Com Port software as a
potential way to control the Flex5000 by CAT over the ethernet. But I
hadn't actually tried it at that time, as I made clear in my post.
This evening while waiting for the EME contest to start, just to see if
I thought he said it was 3:00am and they would be starting
their day. But it is light outside the windows behind him
and the date and time of the file on AOL is 9:28am 11/22/20007.

really. It will

Unless my math is wrong...
I should be able to work the guys in the contest at that freq.
(couple of good DX multipliers there)
That's not that close to the edge.
I have to move dial to 3.500.760 before the PWSDR will put out a signal.

I have not been able to get my new Flex-5000C to transmit. No matter
what I do I get a high-SWR warning and no signal is transmitted. It
receives very well on all bands.
I have tested extensively every cable, antenna switch and antenna on
other rigs and they are all perfect.
I have
Richard, it sounds like a bad mechanical connection
in the antenna, or possibly a moisture issue.
Check out the eHam reviews of it:

Jim,
I read your request; it is not exactly what I would like to have:
I use neither a Mic nor any of the the other hardware I/Os. I use VAC only
for phone and SSTV and even CW (phone and CW via a softphone).
And especially for CW I need the VOX.
So I will do another change request
guenter
I really plan to give my Flex5Ka a workout in tonight CQWWCW.
I will be concentrating on 80/40 which is where I still have a lot of open
band/modes.
SP, just running up/down the Writelog Bandmap.
Barely functional 80/40 dipole.
Running 192000/2048 with a WinKey2USB keyer.
PWSDR on secondary
I have a 5000A, dual core, 4 Mb RAM, EV27 into a EqPlus into the front
panel. When I speak, it sounds great but everyone says it jumps in power as
I speak. Very noticeable. Looking at the Fwd Pwr meter, you can see it
displaying small amounts of wattage until it finally shows 100 watts. I'm
When I select VAC in a phone mode as USB mode specific controls - phone
(compressor, compander, vox, gate and mic adjust) can be selected (show
yellow) and modified, but have no influence.
Are there software reasons, that they cannot be activated or is it a bug or a
feature ?
guenter
I just, earlier today, turned in a feature request to allow talk thru when
VAC is enabled. I really need that on Digital SSTV. I would be completely
automated.

Sorry I could not let it go, I know that mikes differ, but with some
soldering and some small electronic parts you can make allmost
every mike work.
PS I like the first mirror mike.

Bill ,
Are you sure that you were not working a locked split or off
set? My works fine at that freq, but will give me a out of band
warning at 3.49.
