Bill,
Upper sideband is used on all bands from 20 meters up. I use it here up to 9
CM, which is 3456 MHz. I have never heard LSB used on VHF/UHF.
Hope this helps.

Only worked a few cw q's on 6 meters.
Which Sideband is the preferred choice on 6 phone.
(I'm a cw/digital op and don't do all that much phone).
If there were any signals I could copy on 6 I could figure it out quick
but not hearing anything right now.

Me too, Steve.
I got all excited when I first read your note.
This proprietary stuff really holds back the world.
It's what keeps me from using AOR, D-Star, etc.
I once became the IT Manager for a company that used
MAI Basic Four equipment. They used special PROMs in
their terminal and printers

It is not your fault
Sorry, but I didn't realize the DV software was using patented code. The
source code for MELP is available, but not the source code for FDMDV.
I still like the idea of digital voice, but was unaware of the legal issues.

Not really. One could probably glue something into the source to make
it so, but it would be a bit tedio
MELP is covered by multiple patents. It is not licensed to anyone who
has produced this. This is a road down which there is nothing but
trouble. It is not the basis of our digital voice future and is in fact
a direct contributor to a lack of progress. We cannot use it.

Hi,
in tune function pressing TUN, the mike input was muted so far with good
reasons. In v1.10.4 SVN 1808 which I just downloaded this is not anymore
the case. Intentionally or a bug ??

My curiosity is killing me , as there has been no reporting on the
5000C, and a number of them appear to be shipped. WHAT is the Core2Duo
processor speed that is being installed on the motherboards ?? There
still is no number that has been put onto the spec sheets as to which
model of the Core

There is no easy answer to this in the current revision of PowerSDR if you
don't want to use CAT. Being able to easily modify/extend/interface to the
radio is one of the goals of our next generation software architecture.
