I have created a Subversion repository at http://java-sdr.dev.java.net
with the source code for Java GUI for the SDR-1000.
I have uploaded several documents for setting up a Fedora, Ubuntu and
Mac OS X system (note this only runs on Intel Mac OS X currently),
Netbeans and some very basic

Hi Jeff,
I see that you made your console available via the svn. Excellent!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Barry.
If you're interested, you can find more info about it on my blog:

(And again, my thanks to John Melton and his Java console for inspiring
me to make the effort to add the combined panadapter/waterfall display
to mine).
Cheers!

Unfortunately, family commitments have limited my RTTY ROUNDUP time.
But:
I still hold High Score in zip code 60706, Single Op.
I did find that the TuneLatency/VAC issue did NOT appear.
Previously, activating the Tune Button to operate a auxiliary antenna tuner
or change antenna switch would
I've worked about 270 countries on CW in the past couple years on 160 80 and 40
using my SDR-1000 and now the F5K.. Guess I missed the fact DX has been bad.

I mistakenly put a version of the sdr1000 hardware code that did not
support parallel ports. I have updated it on java.net so you should be
able to do an 'svn update' from within the java-sdr directory and it
will update the binary. I have only been using the USB cable, so that
one slipped
I seldom make a post, but had to on this. I just downloaded Jeff's
latest console on his SVN branch and love it. The combo Waterfall and Pan
is fantastic for CW and digital modes use. The other features are great
too. Gave me that ohhh man, cool moment when I first used it.I also
Kudos', Jeff always comes up with those nice little extra's that polish the
display. He's got quite a list of enhancements.
Like John I'm a nut for that analog meter if it can be brought back.
Thanks Jeff!

Jeff,
Thanks for posting your console mods! The panafall (waterpan?) display
is very cool and I'm enjoying the new snap feature.
Very nice indeed! Thanks for sharing it!
Also, your comments on the 'comb' effect on the waterfall got me
thinking. One of the reasons I've been enjoying the
Hello,
Does anyone have a 1 watt SDR-1000 they want to part with? I could use one
for a microwave IF rig.
Thanks

Has anyone successfully used N8VB's vCOM on Vista? It is not working for

I tried several times but it does not seem to be there yet. I have used the

N8VB's vCOM works for me under Vista as long as I use the default
comm mappings.

Before I forget, John, there *is* an analog meter display on the Console
(my original Console had two different analog meters, and I ditched one
of them when I went to my new code ). The existing analog meter is also
in the Flex console, and it's an edge style meter which can be
selected to
Jeff, I think we all mean that we LOVED the old yellow backlit meter like
from an old FT-101 or something. Having it in a seperate window was very
cool! At least thats my vote!
73 and keep up the great work there.

Are we supposed to start with a new database for every new SVN, or
simply keep the database used with SVN versions separate from that used
with the release version? It'll be a pain changing antenna, CAT, VAC and
other settings for every new SVN I download.

Alan,
It's not necessary to change the database; however, you should consider
doing so if you are having problems.
Save the old database under a different name. Create a new one-its done
automatically when you start PowerSDR. If the problem goes away, you know it
was related to the old
I will add to that vote. The backlit meter gave the whole ensemble some
serious style.

No, it is not a requirement to create a new DB for every SVN that contains a
PowerSDR change. See the KB article about when a new DB should be considered.
