It would appear no one was interested in the SDR1K for the price I
mentioned. So if the demand isn't' there, I'll follow the supply/demand
economics mode:

I received the RX2 yesterday and installed it last night. Firmware

mine doesn't arrive until late tomorrow afternoon. Were those nylon screws
6-32 x 3/4? I think that's the only size I carry in nylon.

Hello Flexers,
There is an updated RX2 Installation Guide that will be available
today. We no longer use the Nylon screws; instead all (4) standoffs
are mounted to the transceiver board. The updated guide also describes
a process of doing this that makes installation a LOT easier.
EU shipments will commence once CE testing has
been completed.
Do you have any idea when its likely to be completed.

Flex-5000 50-Mhz performance falls a little short for the weakest of
weak-signal DX. What's the best remedy? 6m preamp in the RX loop?
Or using the Flex-5000 as a 28-MHz IF for a high-performance
transverter? Anyone tried both approaches?
I am confident that with a little boost the 5000

I am running a 6m preamp through the RX loop with great results for weak signal
work. I added about 12 dB of gain and that seems to do very well.
I don't have a 6m transverter, so someone else would have to comment, but I
suspect it will work well too.

Hello Bill,
I've been using the FLEX-5000A on 6m with an inexpensive 20 year old
Radio Shack (Archer) 50Mhz - 450 MHz CATV preamplifier in the RX1 In/Out
loop. It supposedly has 10 dB of gain, which is enough that connecting

My comment is why do I need to add an Archer 20 year old CATV preamp to a
world class radio for modern day performance?
Come on guys, use a separate preamp
You know, Ross, I read your question several times because it bothered me
since I have recently encountered a small question with the Flex5000A but
only because I was pushing the ham radio envelope and it reminded me of a
situation in my own life when I was working for a custom machine builder.
The Inventory status said the ATU is in stock and ships right away.
Inventory updated 6-10-08.
Placed an order and get an invoice stating the ATU will not ship until 6-25
Seems to be a flaw in your system!

Bill,
Yes, the best place for the 6m preamp is in the RX1 loop. We will be adding
an option on the Antenna form soon to allow the internal preamp to be turned
off when an external preamp is installed in the loop.

I know many of you are awaiting the release of the PowerSDR v1.12.0 release
so you can play with the latest features (and perhaps a new RX2). Just as I
was getting ready to pull the trigger and release the software to the web, I
found an issue that must be addressed before we release. We
