Hi all just got an email back from some one that can read, LOL.
The firewire card I have found has the chip markings of
TI TSB82AA2
its a texas instrument chip it has firewire 800 (two external plugs) and
400 as a single external and one internal.
Has anybody used this chip based firewire
Firewire 800 only has native operating support with Win7, which by the way is
the primary reason that there are problems with Win7 and Firewire with a lot of
products in addition to the FLEX-x000 SDRs.
To get that adapter to work on a different operating systems, you will have to
use a vendor

Try out this TI card at NewEgg. Works well on XP and Win7. Low cost low
profile design.

Just got a new 27inch iMac i7 machine. Windows 7 will not YET work in
bootcamp. There will be a fix before the end of December.. likely quicker. So
anyone trying tou se Windows 7 with the iMac and Snow Leopard OS .. don't get
fustrated if it won't install.

I have it working on my macbook pro I am using it while I type this note!

That's interesting it's likely true in my case because the iMac I am using is
an i7 intel iMac and not a core duo?? The info was given to me by Apple .

Neal - Are you running Win7 in Boot Camp or in Parallels on your Mac
Book? The new version of Parallels (version 5) is supposed to be FB
for Win7.

I have a slight problem the machine has only one standard pci which I
was planning on using for the audity sound card, which leaves free one
4x pci-e slot and the 64 bit pci-x slot, the 16x pci-e has the video
card in it.
I could just forget about the sound card and use the onboard one which
I need some Flex'er help with digital mode using the DM780 program. I

I am using Win 7 64 and have an Onboard TI Chipset that works fine for
both XP and Win 7.
I also purchased a 1X PCIe card that's on the known to work list in

Val,
I am using pretty much the same setup that you are using. HTD does not need
to be running to use DM780. I have been using com0com; however, I just
switched to VSP. You might make sure you don't have the input and output
for the soundcard settings in the program options.

I Hooked up the F3K tonight and found that it is astounding! It appears to be
equal to the F5K in my eyes; howeer, the F5K has a built in antenna
configuratin system that the F3K does not have. The instructions that come
with the radio are very clear and it was a simple process to get it

It works for me also with Windows7 (32 bit) and VAC4.09 and also on
WinXP-pro (32-bit).
