Mike,
Glad you got things working. There is no need for a 2nd serial port pair
for CW keying anyway. I am keying the rig from N1MM using the same serial
port used for CAT control. The 2nd port pair is only needed for PTT using
my VoiceKeyer program.

Unless you are in the near field of a 1.5 KW radiator, I don't think either the
analog or the digital interface is either more susceptible to RFI. If it is,
add ferrites.

The most arcane video cable *I* know of, at last as of today, is

Well, since we can't see it and you have given no
Thanks Ray and Dudley. I'm up and running with both N1MM and SD loggers
using the vspMgr program you suggested. Very easy to set up. Since I'm
running CW with an external WKUSB keyer, there was no need for a second
virtual port pair for keying.

this is a 'digital' video cable?
is it more or less susceptible to RFI / EMI on tx or rx than old fashioned
analog
cabling?

Jon,
You can no longer update *everything* by going to to the top level and
doing an svn update. There's way too much data for that and it was
causing bandwidth problems. Instead, you should create a new local
working directory for each of the projects of interest, and then do an
svn checkout

it is ok now

Morning all. TGIM!! Ya, right!! When I tried to update the main SVN URL
this morning, I'm getting a prompt for username and password. This has
worked before. Has something changed? Thank you.

I have noted that since I update my 3000 to the new preamps and update to
1.18.3, the NB and NB2 filters don't seem to do very much. Sometimes, it
seems like they do not do anything at all. I looked around and can't see
what this could be. Any suggestions?

Valerio,
I bet you were using Com 11 with Mixw prior to trying WSPR . Although that
program is now closed, the Comport is still being held open and assigned in
use by the previously closed program. Try another Com port number that was not
previously used, or reboot your PC. Then run
Great! Should work that way for everyone.

I think you may be trying to share a PTT com port using DDUtil.
I don't believe that you can do that currently with DDUtil.
You have two choices I believe:
1) don't have the MixW and WSPR running at the same time -- Both
programs could reference the same PTT com port
2) Key using CAT

Mike,
One more thing, just noticed that you wrote, "just ran a patch cord from
the Flex 5K line out to my
PC's sound card line in." Of course, to send .wav files from N1MM, the
patch cord would have to go from your PC soundcard line out connector to one
of the FLEX-5000's transmit audio input
Mike,
One thing I would add to Dudley's reply is to NOT use vCom. The author is
no longer supporting it & the configuration utility does not work properly
under Vista.
I would recommend either VSP Manager (1st choice) by Steve Nance, K5FR, or
com0com (2nd choice). Both programs are free.
