Hello …
I have FLEX-5000A w. ATU/RX2 for sale, unit still under warranty. Not
an easy decision, but have no time to play with it... I used it really
barely over the last year. This is for sure the best radio I have ever
used. Radio is in great condition, first owner, serial number

EasyPal works fine for me using DDUtil and DXLab suite. Using macros in
DDUtils so set the proper receive filters, frequency and mode.

In the sound control panel, record devices, select VAC 3, click properties,
listen Tab , select listen and the select your speakers.
That may do what you want.

Look at the VAC "audio repeater", might do the trick. I have used it for
similar stuff.

Is there a way to pipe VAC lines to multiple applications, both send and
receive? From SDR.
If there is I have not found it yet.
For instance,
How do I connect Windows default sound card and digital applications at

I use a Linear Amp UK ranger 811H amp, 4 x Svetlana 811a valves giving a
max 800w out on CW, keyed via the PTT
socket on the back of the F3K, however I find I rarely use it these
days, infact I often find myself using just 10w on CW and still
work all the DX I can hear. I use Delta Loop antennas
Mark, I use an Yaesu FL-7000 (a 600w solid state amp w/built in auto-tuner)
with my F5k. Interface it with an Ameritron ARB704 amp keying interface "for an
added bit of protection" (and because i read somewhere Flex recommends using a
buffer circuit to key an amp). Havent bothered interfacing
Every day. Works great. I set the audio levels in DIGIL or DIGIU
depending on which band I'm on and then switch to USB or LSB . Seems to
work better than using DIGIU or DIGIL alone.
Just watch your drive levels in the digital modes, especially Easypal.

NR and NB have been "sub optimal" for a while. This has been covered on the
FlexEdge reflector as well as Bob's recent notes that he is working on
improvements for both.

If you do still have issues, try a different firewire card. NEC chipsets are
probably the least compatible on the market with the exception of JMicron.

Yes it works fine with VAC audio too, I use it on VHF with Rob & the

It is a 100% duty cycle mode so be aware of audio levels and power

I just downloaded 2.0.16 to a new AMD Phenom 9550 quad 2.12Ghz. 6MB ram
computer running 64bit Vista as Administrator after uninstalling on-board Agere
firewire and installing NEC firewire board that worked well on last computer.
At startup the system worked fine except for constant -30dB noise
Yes. Unless you select the Setup->Audio->VAC option to make the mic active
*and* you use the PTT circuit (hard wired) to key the mic.

When you select the DGU and DGL modes is the front microphone connected
muted on the Flex-3000? I don't want to be broadcasting my crappy guitar
from here in the shack. ;-)

I have been using EasyPal with SDR-1000 and now my Flex-3000 for quite a
while. It does take more compute power than other digital modes used with
PowerSDR, but seems to work just fine.

I'm hearing about Easy PAL, an SSTV format that I understand is not yet
incorporated in HR Deluxe or DM 780. Is anyone here using Easy PAL with
a Flex?

I was just curious about why Kaspersky identified them, when they are
clearly not malware. I'm moving on, though.
