You could follow the tuning steps advocated at www.tweakhound.com and pair back to the 'tweaked' setting of www.blackviper.com but a 1.6GHz processor, even if it was a 6 core, isn't barely capable of running Win7 much less win7 + sdr. I think you are fighting a losing battle on that platform. 73 N

Steve, Also disable your wireless and bluetooth in the Windows Device manager. Some laptops have a switch which should do the same, but disabling in the device manager is a sure thing. Many netbooks will only go to 2gb, so you may be stuck there, and some do not have the windows scroll feature
