Subject: [Flexradio] RX2 question
Have an RX2 installed in my 5000 but have a question. When I select RX2 in the
RX2 window both displays are always for the same frequency. If RX1 is lets say
3.790 and I go the RX2 RX selector and pick 40m ,RX1 switches to 40m. And that
happens even if RX2 is not selected (highlighted).

Could be true but I can also guarantee you that those small relays can not
handle too many open circuited loads and nearby lightning strikes like the
old open frame relays of yesterday's rigs could.

If it was a bad relay, it would happen on all bands. This might be a WBIR
issue. The developers are looking into it.

I have two Panasonic Plasma TV's
The older 50" one (2004) is noisy as heck... great picture but wipes out the
bands when in use.
The newer 58" one (2008) is quiet.. no noise whatsoever..
I also have a LCD in the Shack - no noise
My solution was to mount the 58" in the bedroom where my wife likes

It sounds very much like a bad T/R relay. Unless you are putting out enough
power when keying the mic to correct an antenna issue.
I see the problem with sticky T/R relays on the older radios with knobs.
Once you fix the problem temporarily by keying the mic, does it stay good
for a while? Or
Chris,
So how do you use the aluminum frame as the second antenna, if you
cannot connect it to the radio?

Don't know if this applies to flex or not, but I have a yeasu ft-1000d
which does the same thing. Bad t/r relay contacts.

Hi
I have solved Plasma TV noise almost to zero, by using a
MFJ Noise Canceler. Using a Alu window frame as second antenna
as pickup to phase the noise out.
Believe it or not, it works best, and wasent even to expencive.
If you have a Flex5000 you could use the second RX, I cant,
am not rich eno
I have a 3000 and have noticed a drop in signal at times. I have confirmed this
by monitoring a beacon signal . I never noticed this until I upgraded to the
latest software. Its like you lose a couple of "S" units on the signal , I can
key the mic on the Flex and signal will return to normal. Ha
Hi Flexers,
I am seeking a (2nd) SDR-1000 or a 1500 for QRP use to link up with
transverters.
Anyone wanting to change up?
So far one non-QRP SDR with 2M transverter came forward... any others?
