Craig,
I am going to raise the antenna first, but it may get to installing a
whole bunch of ferrites.

I had the same problem with chirping smoke detectors and burglar alarm
system when I operated with my amplifier. I remedied the situation by using
snap on ferrite beads on each sensor and the wires into and out of the alarm
box as well as at each control pad.

Are any details available on the Flex Radio banquet this year? I'd like to

Ha!
Reminded me of a single chip keyer I built back in my 'post novice' days.
Tiny little chip, 9 volt battery
and
30lbs of .01 disc caps.
man you couldn't op at any power level without the rf locking that keyer on.

From the day I received my Flex 5K, now over a year ago, I noticed
what I believed to be an excessive DC level on the front panel
headphone connector. Scott's message below made me go do some testing
and here is what I found.
It's easy to experience this DC level. All you have
Ray,
Thanks. This sounds like something that is easily doable. I am
hoping this will solve the problem

Yes, if the wiring is in the walls, running shielded cable would be a bit

liberal use of some .01 uF by-pass capacitors on the sensor lines right at

In your case, try some by-pass capacitors (.01 uF is a good start) across
the inputs to your alarm system. Should n

Clamp-on ferrite can help a lot.
If there is slack in the cable, you
might get two or three turns through

Bob,
I live in an intense RF environment for VHF/UHF emitters. I have had all sorts
of problems enjoying 50 MHz and above that I finally solved with filters of
various sorts.
My knoll-top QTH is line-of-sight to almost every TV and FM broadcast and
two-way radio or paging transmitter in town.
Are you using stereo headphones?

Just received my new 5000a and smiling ear to ear..no glitches setting up
and getting it running (PSDR V 2.016, Win 7 64 home premium).
BUT no sound out of the headphone jack except rhythmic, LOUD clicking. Mixer
was checked for headphones and powered speakers. I've tried two sets of
headphones.

Hi folks,
Actually, the easiest way is to access your Reflector subscriber

to you when you initially subscribed) and just change your password. You
do not have to wait for the list admin to approve your subscription request.
