Greetings Gwyn, What buffer size do you use when you go to 48 KHz?? I do the exact same thing as you do for CW with 48 KHz sampling rate but have to change my buffer size (the setting just above the sample rate setting) to about either 512 or 1024 and that solves it here. Hope this helps. 73

If you are using XP make sure you have the Firewire hotfix installed because if your Firewire is running @ 100 mb/s rather than 400 mb/s that can cause the symptoms you are describing. If you are using Win7, make sure that the 1394 driver is the legacy version as there is a performance bug
