Wow, what a weekend. The bands were great. The Flex 3000 was great. The
Flexcontrol was even greater!! And the weather here in Central VA was
absolutely wonderful, low humidity and reasonable temps.

I have a FLEX-5000 - RX2 - ATU - VU5K, that is gathering dust, which is 4 Sale.
The main unit is less than1 year old.
The VU5K add-on was installed in Feb, 2011.
Unit has very low operation time on it and it is in perfect shape.
They sell from Flex for $4,743.00.

Hi all- I am a relatively new ham (but an old guy), new Flex user, and
an English major. I need some advice regarding adding an amp to the
station. I will be running through an MA-5B and even though it is is
rated for 1.5kw, from what I read I think it would be prudent to hold
power down to l
Have you enabled the keyer 'relay'? If not, go to Antenna tab, and check
Switch Relay with TR. For simplicity, use TX1 (red) and make sure you're
plugged into TX1 (red) socket on the back. Flex advises to use a buffer relay
between the Darlington switching transistor in the Flex and the amp.
it will depend on how recent your Flex was built - my radio needed extra
filtering on the 5V power to eliminate a noise when I used a powered mic. If
you have the problem Flex will fix it or you can modify the mic to have more
filtering.
