I would try the internal keyer. I have owned several Flex radios over
the years. I had 2 SDR-1000 at different times and I owned a 3000 a
couple of years ago. In all of those cases, I found the internal cw
keyer was
unusable. The latency issues made sending cw nearly impossible for me. I

Give the 5K a try without an external keyer...the internal one works great for
me, although I am now letting the 5K gather dust as I use the internal keyer on
the 6700.
