One thing that sometimes happens is inadvertently leaving TX on the DX
frequency. Could that have occurred?

I've had good results with the JT modes by turning AGC to "Fixed", and using
AGC-T to set baseline signal levels (zero on quiet frequency). No blooming, no
"blackout" in the waterfall.

buy the VAC license. It's well worth it. Having
a periodic voice stamp in your audio, transmit or receive, is a bad thing.

using irregular operation. I'd recommend getting a
matched set of RAM modules and trying that. You'll need to consult your
motherboard docs to see what speed and capacities are supported.
