One other possibility that I've experienced with a Shuttle PC is that the USB ports on the machine are unable to supply enough current to all attached devices (I have a Netgear wireless USB dongle that is really power hungry) and that can cause all sorts of weird problems. Happy New Year all

Peter, I asked the same question in a different way a while back. I noticed that with no inputs to the Firebox (or Delta 44 - I have both) the analogue input meters on the SDR software were reading in the order of 100dB down on maximum. Doing some simple maths the theoretical minimum fro a 24bit
