I have been using a Lifebook N Series N6470 (until the hard drive died
earlier this week) with VAC and FLdigi with quite a bit of success. Now If
I can just resurrect the hard drive I'll be back in business.

I ordered a Flex 3000 last week and am eagerly waiting for the radio to run up.

Hi Sasi,
A Flex 3000 doesn't require a sound card. It has its own ADC and DAC.
I can't comment on the suitability of your Lifebook but perhaps others
can. There seem to be several Lifebook models with significant
differences in their processing power. Which one do you have?
