This was less a deficiency on PowerSDR's part than serious laziness on
my part in keeping up with Windows housekeeping. I was paying for a lot
of years of adding and removing USB and serial drivers and ports without
thought of the consequences. eventually the mess caught up with me.
Thankfully
Tnx to Chuck, Bill, and Don Sachnoff for their suggestions. Wound up
using the .cmd commands below to discover I had a bunch of unused USB
port assignments left over from stuff I had thrown out. Deleted those.
Also per Bill's suggestion, had to do the remove existing USB stuff and
reboot to get

Try this which I pasted from another list:
Start, Run, type in "cmd" (without quotes), click on Ok.
A console window appears; type in:
- "set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1" and hit Enter key
- "start devmgmt.msc" and hit Enter key
The usual Device Management window will appear, from the
