WELL..after sitting on the fence (I never had much luck with the SVN
releases), I decided to try V2.0.16.
Downloaded, installed, and up and running in about 15 minutes!
This is running out-of-the-box, and I *like* it! The "Pretty Betty" (or
whatever they're called) graphics look _very_ nice, an
I think I have a few minutes recorded. I'm a newbie, just received my
5000A seven days ago, so took a shot at wav recording (pre-processed) of
some 20 meters.
It should be on my computer, but I haven't set it back up yet since

In a multi-multi contest, if you don't use monitor, you are listening

DDUTIL has a memory feature that was added a couple months ago. It memorizes
pretty much every thing that can be remembered from the CAT commands. So all
you have to do if you bump or click something is just "recal"l what was
memorized.
The program can memorize up to 5 memories and the memo
OK, that makes sense. I run my audio buffers at 256 on my computer get very
low latency. You may want to reduce your DSP Transmit buffers slightly as
well. There is a trade off on DSP buffers between latency and filter
skirts. You may want to play with that one a little.

I prefer monitor in a contest because I use auto-keyer to play my 'CQ
contest..." ditty over and over again to save my voice. Having monitor on
lets me hear myself and time when to start paying attention again.
Sure someday I'll move over to SO2R, and ill want monitor off so I can be

Ruben,
I can't imagine why someone would run monitor in a contest for SSB? I can
see it for the ESSB crowd but not contesting.
However, you can get the latency very low if you run at 192 kHz sampling
rate and 256 sample audio buffers. I do that when I want to monitor my
audio to test microphone

" multi-multi contest, monitor is very very important"
Why is that?
I believe the delay might be lessened by using the smallest possible
dsp and audio buffer sizes.
But I don't think u can totally get rid of it.. There's a set amount
of time your audio takes to get all processed and f

I don't seem to have that problem here, I don't have a delay.
Or at least I don't notice it.
Could that be a function of the speed/version of your computer?
Maybe one of the Gurus can address that for you.

Congrats on your big showing in the contest.
More than once I inadvertently have mouse clicked and lost a 'RUN'
frequency.
I agree a 'Full Lock' button would be advantageous during a contest.
I sort of get around it, but using the 'SAVE' and 'RESTORE' buttons.
When I get a run going I cl

Medallion and a 75th anniversary Fridge magnet.
Even though I've played in Sweeps for decades, this was the first year I
managed a 'Sweeps'.
And oh...I'm giving credit to the Flex5KA..
Broom, medallion, and magnet arrived today,

Obviously I needed the 2nd receiver to make that split.
Worked like a champ.
new one on 40 phone is 'in da log'.
ps: I 'normally' use the 2nd receiver to monitor a different band.
I am delighted to report that my first Olivia QSO is with Tim W4TME on

Received an excellent report from "Rich" a visitor in
