Hi Bill!
Down East Microwave - www.downeastmicrowave.com
Reliable, they don't overheat and exceptionally good RX.
I've got six of them running 144-2304 MHz.

Re K5HY's message, I reiterate my comment made at the session at Dayton. The
transverters should have one high power output (25 -50W) and ALSO a low
power output (1 - 5) to drive tower-mounted microwave transverters. I have
been told that the low power output will be 1 milliwatt, which in no way

Hello Bill and others
Since I have borrowed N5AC's Flex-3000 and put it on 6M, I decided to use my
Flex-5000 on 2 VHF bands. Normally RX1 is on 6M and RX2 is on 222 or any
other transverter band I choose

Marty,
I believe the XVTR option for the Flex-3000 is all external, so getting a
DownEast Microwave unit, with the 10 MHz reference option (A 32 board)
should keep you without drift. I know some folks locally using

Jim,
I also paid early and have 5000a serial number 9. I have been using my
5000 on the microwaves since the day I got it. The 5000 has the
connectors to go to a Downeastmicrowave (or other) intermediate
transverter and on to microwaves up to 10G.

Thanks to Eric for helping with this problem. It appears that if you have
two transverters with the same frequency range only the first one in the
list will be selected ever. In my case my third and fourth transverters were
for 902Mhz and the third one was always being selected.
In my opinion
Greetings Gents:
The option for a 2 meter/70 cm transverter for the Flex -5000 is great news. My
question is do these transverters cover the entire 2 meter and 70 cm amateur
bands? I was interested in knowing if they can operate with standard repeater
shifts for repeater work on FM as well

I still haven't resolved my problem despite Eric's help.
I have an SDR1K with a built-in DEM 144MHz transverter. I use the
output of the 144 transverter to drive a 144MHz to 70MHz transverter.
So, I click on the 2 button of the Band Selection buttons, and the
