Hi --
I used to be able to get to Wolfram's hangar for FlightGear Flight
Simulator models through the link but now all I get is a T-mobile web
page. Is his site still out there in the ether somewhere? It was a
really great site!
Thanks,
Stacie

What am I doing wrong? I have sucessfully built scenery before but I
wanted to change the terrain texture to desert.rgb so I set the material
type to DryLake when using tgvpf.
$terr_prep/tgvpf/tgvpf --tile=w087n30 --work-dir=LandMass
--material=DryLake --max-segment=400 /data/vmaplv0 noamer bnd
To go along with the ground vehicles, is there a way to have them move
on the terrain within the scenes?
Thanks,
Stacie

Did you download this file in binary mode ? The basic windows ftp client
is in ascii when started and corrupt binary files with line endings
conversion.

I have been trying to build some scenery over some pretty mountainous
areas in California (w117n35) using SRTM 1 arcsec data. I end up with
some very strange looking scenery with HUGE cliffs.
I wanted to compare the FG base scenery from the downloads but when I
tried to unpack the data ended
Hi ---
I am having a problem generating airports within TerraGear. I have been
following the recipe from the TerraGear.README file and downloaded Robin
Peel's database of airports and managed to create the basic.dat and the
runways.dat file.
When I tried to use the genapt utility first I had
Is it possible to bring in either raw or TIFF imagery to the flight gear environment?
The imagery has been georegistered and is part of a set of stereo pair images used to
create 3-D models and DEMs. Can the imagery data (as well as 3-models and high
resolution DEMs (3 meter DEMs) be overlaid

Yes, it's possible, although we don't have good facilities built in for
paging high volumes
