In a standard rate turn in a C172, defined as 180 degrees/min (2 minute turn) the silhouette on the indicator will be pegged on about 20 degrees. It only really shows the rate of turn. The Bank angle itself is not an accurate indication. Older instruments will only actually take into account yaw,
