Sounds good. However, on the topic of the rockets (and if you are referring
to the existing JSBSim X-15 FDM), I just reworked the rocket engine code
I have resumed work on the X-15.
I want to model every single thing (from the last bottle of hydrogen peroxide
to the historical launch sites) for three aircraft configuration :
X15 #1 : Old style flight deck, old style SAS and RAS (later standing for
Reaction Augmentation System).
X-15 #2 :
FOIA requests.
Nowadays, you can simply use the NTRS, like you mentioned.

Hi everybody,
I thought it might be nice to upload the current 3D model of the X-15 to the
CVS repository.
That would allow people play around with the model in its very early alpha
state :o)
This model is to be released under GPL (even though there is no source code for
it)
As the most

Here is the first step of a more general update I want to implement for the
X-15 (also including 3D cockpit and systems)
So far I only modelled the X-15A-2. Depending on what flight dynamics are
implemented I may change to X-15 #1 (basic aerodynamics and Stability
Augmentation System) or the

As I recall, this one has orange,
spray-on insulation, no?

Well, actually this aircraft flew in quite a few schemes.
It flew in regular black paint finish, same plus some patch of ablator on the
tail area (and a white cross applied to the bottom), and finally with a full
spray of
