Yes i am specifying the right encryption security mode. i have used 64 bit
WEP in HEX encryption.
And about checking the driver i might need it in more detail because i am
new to linux itself.A bit of more elaboration please.

Manish, are specifying the right encryption security mode while connecting
to your modem. By this I mean, are specifying whether your mode is WEP, WPA,
etc and whether the key is in HEX or ASCII. Normally, we use WEP with Hex
encryption. Try figuring that out, it might just help. Next thing is, for
