open-office (even the latest rc) is not good as the micro$oft office

Actually Office 2007 have read HCI well, but openoffice' actual power is on
open standards, and Sun Microsystem is working on HCI as well. But they have
always been a bit poor on that. You can take example of java swing or awt :P

Well Ujjwal, I certainly didn't get what you were implying and also what
your issues are against Ubuntu. I have been using it for 2 years now and
never had to format it. And just because you got stuck somewhere does not
mean that everyone is going to get stuck, well I haven't till now.
Cheers

With a box with such decent specs, I too could try to crash Ubuntu.

Let me clear you dude. I've been a hardcore linux user since 3 years. There
are a lot of difficulties you can't override. In near future, i'm sure that
you'll be in such big trouble. the first trouble would be software you might
wanna try.

Only the GUI of a Distribution is never the Distribution itself !!!
Judging the system by how is looks it analogous to judging a book by
its cover. Linux is a huge system under the cover of X. We ought to
look inside, as well, to feel what a distribution actually is like.

Dear Ujwal,
Great to have your views in this thread, We are really having some good
testing grounds for our believes to be examined. I had been a believer of
FLOSSophy long back and a practitioner very recently. No doubt, I might
