I'm surprised at the content of the message, though. Adobe is the
2nd-to-last company I'd expect to send out unsigned software. This is wildly
off-topic for this list, but does anyone here know if there's been a change
in security key protocols in Win7?

We have both FM8 and FM9. When the FM8 installer has finished installing
FM, it brings up a screen that asks you if you want to install the PDF
Add-on. It's Distiller, but the printer driver is called Adobe PDF. If
you have already installed Acrobat or are going to install it, do not
install

The only docs I have are in PDF and I need to get the content into
FrameMaker. I'd like to go to FM( with the original formatting and name
so I can do a Replace to bring the tags up to current spec. I can save
the PDF as an RTF

My first step would be to go to the FrameMaker folder and double-click
the actual FrameMaker.exe file. That will rule out a faulty alias and
verify the installation.
Evidently you have attempted installing FrameMaker several times
already. I think you should start looking somewhere else.
Me too. There are couple of projects that I have thought might be
better done in ID because of the quality of type and problems I have
had in the past with RGB artefacts in PDFs (I do get sick of having to
tell prepress people how to do their job). I guess it is mainly

My writer is using FM 8.0 on a Windows machine.
Can anyone cite a reason why a PDF of a book would fail with the TOC in
place, but work fine when the TOC is removed (and successfully process
the TOC into a PDF separately). Thanks for your help.
