Hi,
Does anyone know of an easy way to combine different FM documents into one
file?
Thanks,
Linda

I think a little more information would be helpful in trying to assist in
solving your problem.
Are you just trying to add Frame files from different versions to a new book of
another version?
If that is the case, I would open each of the files in the target, hopefully
the newest, version and
Hi Linda,
You could open a document and import the other documents as text insets
(File Import File). Or, you could do it programmatically with
FrameScript. If you are interested in the FrameScript approach, please
contact me offlist. Thanks.

Rick Quatro has a cocatenate Framescript that will merge all files in
a book into a large file. It may also work on a directory, but I
haven't used it for a long time and I'm not sure what the current

option to Hidden and have even closed and restarted FM, but I am STILL
getting these dratted tooltips, and they are still hanging around for an

Woo hoo - if YOU'RE seeing 'em for FM 9 on Win7, then I am not experiencing
the gaslight treatment. Man, what an annoyance these things are! Is there an

I'll check tonight on a Win 7 system and get back to you. Other than that, I
have no idea about how to get rid of them.

I guess you could do it with text insets, but that wouldn't have been my first
choice. If all of the content is already in FrameMaker and you are looking to
create a new book with components from different versions of Frame, I would
convert each piece to one version, presumably the latest
Hii,
I am using unstructured Framemaker 9. We are considering using a large
number of imported by reference text files in our user guides. Has anyone
had any good or bad experiences using lots of imported by reference text
files?
Thanks,
Linda
