Make sure all of your files in the book are open and that you are selecting all of the files in the book file. Then, make sure the page numbering is set to continue from previous file. After you do that, with all the files still selected, save the files. (I don't think you also have to save the

What does the format definition for your "Figure No." cross-reference format look like? I'm guessing that it looks like "Figure ", which specifies the literal string you are seeing. What it needs to look like is "Figure <$paranum>" or "Figure <$paranumonly>". The "" building block is only used

In my observation, with FM10, when the focus is on a book file and I select Format > Document > PDF Setup, the "Include Paragraphs" and "Don't Include" lists on both the Bookmarks and Tags tabs include all tags from all .fm files, regardless of which file(s) I currently have selected in the book.

The warning is just pointing out that there's a difference between the book settings & the document - it can be ignored. If you set numbering by the book, update it & save the book, it should be sticking. If it's not, then there's something else going on. From:
