OK, I found out what's causing it. My text frame uses Side Heads, and I am displaying a tall graphic image in the side head. I put a text frame in the below the graphic in the Side Head so I could place a caption for the graphic. The Book ended up using this caption for the Heading Text of the

I suspect that Frame pulls the top-level heading text from each component of a book file when the component is added to the book, and then stores a snapshot of that information in the book file so that it doesn't have to re-scan all the components of the book whenever the user changes the view

Keep in mind that scaling raster images to a percentage below 100% in size is fine, as it increases the effective resolution. On the other hand, scaling a raster image to 150% is likely to produce blurry results since you are effectively reducing the resolution of the image. It's usually not
