That may be useful for single files, but what about a book file
containing multiple .fm files?

My experience with trying to read PDF documents into Word has always been way
less than optimal.
Lots of incorrect look and feel issues, footnote problems, font sizes, etc.,
etc., etc., creep in, and the document becomes tough to further edit in Word
afterward.
