User manual is a example of the latter and limits the intended audience.
Another example of this is "butterfly migration" which
"User", in this case, is a limiting adjective, like butterfly in "butterfly

I prefer that to the possessive adjective "User's".
In my mind, one is limiting the scope of the manual not identifying its

Adobe posted an Extendscript-of-the-week quite awhile back that exported
embedded graphics to a subfolder and linked them back into the spot where they
were originally embedded. While not without flaws, it worked pretty well in
FrameMaker 11. It does not work in FM12, probably due to a .dll file
That's why I love this list. I haven't thought about the setting in
Edit>Preferences>Interface settings for quite a while.
As well as Tooltips Appearance > Hidden you might want to give the Fast setting

This zip method of extracting graphics is cleaner that the Word saveAs HTML
method in that repeated graphics are saved only once and the dual versions
(both png and jpg) get reduced to only the png files. The result in the end is
the same set of graphics, but saveAsHTML is more work to get there

You might want to remove the multiple references to FrameMaker 10 on pg 12 (the
page numbered 3 in the PDF) and the one on pg 18 (number page 9 in the PDF). I
see this was last updated yesterday, so this is just part of the ongoing cycle
of updates ;-).

Wouldn't Adobe have an easier time of consolidating these and just showing what
applies to which version(s) from FM10 through 12? Intuitively (here defined as
"without thinking too deeply about it") the FM10 stuff would be a subset of 11
and 11 a subset of 12, although there might be deviations
You'll have to delete the appropriate entry in the set up of the toc.
Right-click on the toc file in the book and choose Set Up Table of Contents...
Move the offending entry from the include side to the exclude side in the
dialog box that comes up.
