Only thing that comes to mind is to check the video drivers, to make sure
they're up to date.

Are your working files local or on the network?
And does the screen refresh, Ctrl-l, clear the screen garbage?

17 crashes much
more frequently than FM 12. I can use the latter with nary a crash, but FM 2017
crashes several times a day.

We store the files we work with on a server on the local network. We had
this problem repeatedly when antivirus software that snooped on all
network communication to and from our PCs interfered.
