FrameMaker vs InDesign book files

Here is an issue that just caught me out, so I'm posting it here in case it's of use to anyone who uses both apps. When versioning books in FrameMaker, I duplicate the entire enclosing folder and then create an alias to the book file in the copied folder. This is a common operation. The alias

Is it true that nDesign supports VB scripting? Is the handling of a document model any better than that for Word? What I mean is, in Maker you can us the API to get all the text items in a paragraph, and that breaks the pgf into all the char format changes, all the table anchors, aframe anchor
