Try changing where you have F: to a different letter; F for the first one, G
for the secong, etc. Each numbering value should have it's own unique
character. There is a name for that character but it escapes me right now.

I have a figure legend that has both numbered and lettered entries. Level

fine, as long as the level 2 items are the

Here's a method that nobody's mentioned yet. It's not complete or
perfect, but it may be useful:
* Create a TOC that extracts all the heading paragraph formats that
you want in an outline. Be sure to check Make Hypertext Links. The TOC
can be for a single document or a book.
*
I would categorize this a perceived gains, capabilities, and costs.
One very big gain and capability that structured documents give you
is the ability to require only certain structures to fit after other
structures.
I can't comment on the capability of Enhance to require a specific
structure

FrameMaker already does have an "outline" view, but you need to be using
structured FrameMaker to get it. In unstructured FrameMaker, there is
absolutely no difference between a Heading1 and a Heading2, or a

Don,
Sandybrooke software (http://www.sandybrook.com/) has an Outline tool add-on
that works within Framemaker.

A fairly quick and easy way to do this is to generate a TOC from the book file.
Then open and Save As one of the existing FM outline templates. Edit
the new file, changing the names of the paragraph tags to correspond
to the tag names used in the TOC.
Import the formats to the TOC, and edit out

Hi Framers!
Does FrameMaker have a feature similar to Word's feature that enables
you to quickly generate an outline of a document that has already been
formatted and written? If not, is there a plug-in for this kind of
thing?
Thanks!
