Hi Mariah,
you should touch base with the Echo Park Film Centre in L.A. They might be
able to help you out.
Heather Harkins is working there at Echo Park right now, she's from Eastern
Canada, but studied film preservation in Rochester, and she is also a filmmaker
and does lots of work with f
Hey Scott,
Do you think there is any way that we could screen an Andrew Noren program
at Exploded View in Tucson? I have an understanding that Andrew was
influenced by the landscape of the Chihuahua monument in SE AZ (large
volcanic desert monoliths) What film could this be? Here in Tucson (close
*The first Noren film I ever saw was THE WIND VARIATIONS, a lovely, serene
study of light and shadow and the motion of a light summer breeze on a
window curtain. We were at the Whitney, in that amazingly uncomfortable
little theater, and part way through the short film (18 minutes, silent)

There’s no particular point to this except the memory of when Kodak threatened
to sue Andrew and he changed the name of his work to Adventures of the
Exquisite Corpse. Now there’s two corpses and two ghosts, each haunting a
different world I guess...

I viewed the three titles at the NYPL just last year and can attest that
all the prints are in great shape. Now if there were only viewing copies of

Admittedly, my perception of the condition of the prints may have been
swayed by how incredible the films are, but I remember them being in

I have an appointment to view CHARMED PARTICLES at the NYPL in a little over a
week and will gladly report here on the condition of the print upon doing so. I
would add more but my screening list is already reaching upwards of 5 hours!

Hi Mariah,
I would suggest writing to Analogue Industries in Colorado. They're making,

off-site tech support for them at very reasonable prices. I also know for a
fact that they have a few people in LA that would be able to he

Andrew had mentioned Barry's film a couple of times over the years, but I
never had a chance to see it. Barry now works out of Hudson, New York and
