There are literally dozens and dozens of different motors for the NPR,
everybody and his brother made one. As Jeff says, if you want to shoot
synch, you probably want the Alcan.
Now, there are some other motors out there that give you crystal control
and varying speeds, and some of them that do

Hi guys,
Thanks for the advice...
I've tested it with 2 separate batteries, one which was from a rental house
so I'm pretty sure it's the motor, not the power source. I don't know how
to check the fuse in the motor. I think it's an Aaton motor. I got it in
2012 and it's been running like a dream
Good advice. Occam’s Razor.
Try it with the motor off the camera, in case the camera is seized up.

I am late to this discussion but have you checked the power cable and the fuses
in the battery and the motor. If the fuse in the motor is blown then the motor
has real problems
Make sure the motor is getting power first.

If you’re in LA try Andree Martin:

You might also see if Whitehouse AV will tackle it.
Which crystal motor do you have? There were many for the NPR — KRYMO, BEALA,
Perfectone, Aaton, and several conversions of DC motors like Hafflex. Some

Mariah,
I definitely agree
If the problem is the motor, pull the motor and ship it to DuAll or someone
that works on those. There is no reason to ship the whole camera if there
is a motor issue. (That said, if it's been a decade since the camera has
had a PM, it might be a good idea to ship it in for a PM as well).
The
Thanks Scott,
It has a crystal sync motor. Does this mean I could just take it to an analog
camera store or repair shop in LA? That’s where I’m based and would rather not
have to ship it anywhere...

Which motor does it have? I am presuming the motor is the issue? There
are probably more different motors available for the NPR than any other
camera made. If it's one of the crystal sync motors, the electronics on
them aren't hard to work on and most of what goes bad are electrolytic

Try DuAll in NYC. Good luck. The cool thing about the NPR and ACL is that you
can use C-Mount lenses.

Hello all,
My eclair motor seems to have died. Anyone know how to fix it? Or, is

dialog? I love the NPR/Angenieux lens combo but am open to arri sr series
and others...
or does anyone want to buy a broken eclair npr?

There was a guy in Los Angeles who repairs motors.. Duall claims to

Mariah,
I would cancel the sale, but I guess it depends on what you paid and what
is included in the package, and
whether you plan to put more money into the package. In general, any used
camera should be fully serviced

Hello everyone -

motor is broken. The seller's offering to knock the price down to $370 or
