I think the distinction here is that while the facts themselves are not open
to copyright, the actual statement of them is. Therefore I can write a book
explaining that "2 + 2 = 4, that is if you take two apples and two oranges
and put them in a bushel, you have four pieces of fruit in the bushel"
I agree that if you're worried about buffer overruns, etc then managed code
is the way to go. C#2.0 especially seems to be more and more viable as an
all out c++ replacement since it seems to have an analog to all of the major
language features of c++, plus a lot of added syntactic sugar.
