Unfortunately, the UDMA chipset on my ASUS P5A doesn't work well with
Western Vegetable drives So, I need to forcibly sysctl it into pio
mode. Is there *any* way to do this from sysinstall on the
5.0-200105250-CURRENT (or later snap on current.freebsd.org) floppy

Thanks

Quickie question:
By implementing the 'start' and 'stop' in the local scripts, how much
should one _expect_ their systems bootup and slow down times to take?
I'm hearing whines of being to linux like, to sysv'ish and some likely
valid complaints on startup/shutdown time.
I, for one, like the f
Did you install an updated MAKEDEV script?
I *think* the point is that you need to bet rid of block devices, and to

I looked through the archives but I didn't see much current on the
subject (esp. under 4.0).

I've been playing with it using the original sources and the patches that
were posted a long time ago on this list. On my DVD drive (Sony DDU220E),
the software fails on gettitlekey. I've chatted with Soren and he left me
with something to try that I never did (can you say, busy busy busy :(

First, no I haven't been reading the big ATA problem thread. I should be

This has been the case over three buildworlds in the past three days.
Is it a general problem that audio CD's fail to play in a dvd drive (or
