Hi,
Does anyone have the nvidia video driver working with releng 7? What I am
seeing is that the kernel module compiles and loads fine, but it will not
detect any video card. I've tried removing the agp device from my BSD kernel
and using nvidia's.

Ah, okay yes if its loaded at boot time it works, funny I thought I tried
that previously. That would be a nice fix to get nvidia talking to the
acpi_video driver.

een the same problem on other systems with different SCSI host
adapters. This workaround always worked.
I don't know why but I assume the incorrect drive geometry is detected by
the FDISK editor.

The advice was to use 2GB geometry which I did.
It is possible their was garbage on the disk although its highly unlikely
when a new logical volume is created.

NOTE_EXTEND in the sense of "there's more files/directories" makes it
possible to distinguish both cases.
Another possibility could be to create new flags that would be the

is there some special thing I need to do? The errors are okay at first but
after a couple of them it PANICs. In case your wondering its ONLY ZFS, UFS
and the MSDOS partitions work fine on the same drive.
My build of current is about a week old.

I tried to build a geom kernel module that uses the alq(9) facility to
log some data. The module builds fine but it seems that the kernel
isn't exporting the alq(9) symbols. Could someone point me how I can
export particular symbols?

Is there a way to build devel/protobuf with gcc46? Unfortunately I see
a compatibility issue where the software I'm linking against it
crashes because of the conflicting stdc++ librray versions. I've tried
setting CC, CXX, LDFLAGS but I seem to be missing something else?

I experienced the same issue recently on 8-STABLE branch and it seems
it has been fixed since 8.1-RC2 and above. I couldn't track down the
root cause in the code nor could I find a commit that seems to be the
obvious fix.

recognizes it as ATA_I82801GB_S1 (PCI ID 27c08086), but this card does
not seem to work with the AHCI. Can anyone point me to why this is the
