Although some problem with a similar file is mentioned in
http://www.freebsd.org/releases/4.8R/errata.html, it doesn't
say anything about it being under /usr. The file is named
@LongLink and it is directly under /usr
(not under /usr/ports/multimedia/gstreamer-plugins/files as the
errata suggets).

oops! - this was a known gotcha since July. Fixed by copying
/etc/resolv.conf to /var/empty/etc/resolv.conf (and +schg-ing

why would the ISP router forward any more packets to it? I wouldn't
know the internals, but isn't there any kind of flow control in the
protocol?

a 100mbps line for 24 hrs/day.
I am not looking for a perfect solution, and I do realize
ddos attacks and such are still possible. I am only looking
for a reasonable solution.
