BTX HALTED!!! I can't get this rocket in the air

Hi FreeBSD folk. I am reading this install guide. And it doesn't get me past this one. For one. I downloaded the AMD64 ISO's. And this loader say's freeBSD/i386. Anyway. I boot to the loader and I can't select anything. Then BTX HALTED. That is all she wrote. If you all have the answer to

I get the screen saying to load default by selecting 1

an op on it already. I read that I need to use my current op's operating system FDISK or I would use Diskpart myself. I just thought Freebsd would load it up and give me a reformat option at startup. I WILL START READING AN HOUR A DAY I PROMISE NOT TO SLOW ALL OF YOU DOWN! THANK

I downloaded everything to no avail! ISO's fail to burn

7;t boot. Or install in anyway. I am wondering if FreeBSD is actually free or is this a way to get us to order the retail box lol. I don't want to feel that way. Yestersay I was so excited about this. I hope you can enlighten me some. Thanks a lot
