from its developers' site. I have 4 CDs downloaded. Kindly advise which CD

I haven't used xdm in ttys for a long t
after installation (from CD1) completed it worked perfectly.
IIRC, only after playing around to configure network card, ppp, etc.
which are still not completed yet, KDE startup became terrible slow.
