OT: 802.11g via USB1 vs 802.11b via pcmcia

I have an old computer that has USB1 ports and no internal wifi card. I have a 802.11b card I can use via pcmcia card and a 802.11g adapter I can use via USB1. Which wifi setup should I use for better performance? (I've never been clear about the speed of pcmcia.) Thanks, Andrew

All, I have a USB 802.11g (DLINK) adapter that I would like to use to access a wireless network. I've been able to download the Windows drivers, convert them in to the kernel module, and load the module. However, when I plug the adapter in, the ugen driver picks it up
