I was installing gnome2 from the ports collection (on dial-up!) and it
took like 3 days of constant work when it finally ran out of space on my
/usr drive (only using a 6.4gig). I thought this would be more than
enough, but alas... So I guess Gnome is too much for my wee
firstly, thanks you very much.
i just found a another way in gnome2-faq-freebsd.
by using"# pkgdb -F
# pkg_delete -rf pkgconfig\*
# cd /usr/ports/x11/gnome2-lite
# make clean
# make install clean
"
then it delete all the deps and also the xorgs(oh...).

If that doesn't work then try uninstalling libtool3 and forcing
re-installation of libtool5.

Hi!
I cant seem to get Gnome2 to work. I installed FreeBSD 5.4
from scratch, installed Xorg (it works fine, I can get into Xterm) and ran
CVS (for both source and ports) and portupgrade several times. When I try
to startx either as root or as a user, I get the initial Gnome 2.10

Now onto the hours of compiling that comes with Gnome.
