Do you really know that your server have IPMI?
As I can see via google, IBM eserver 325 doesn't have IPMI devices out of
the box.

This platform is returning a bogus value for the main temperature sensor

A while back I posted about reading the CPU temperature on a Dell
Poweredge 1950. The proposed solution was to use ipmitool to read the
temperature from the IPMI controller. This gives me a lot of readings,
including ambient temperature, but it does not give me the temperature
of the CPUs. It says

Hi all,
I am trying to get ipmitool working on a Dell 1850.
When I kldload the ipmi.ko, it seems to load fine but the dev device is not
being created.
I can see this in the dmesg any time I try.
If anyone can interprate this I wouold be greatful

Hi FBSDers,
I'm setting up an Intel SR1435VP2 server (SE7320VP2 mobo) and it
appears the only way to get at the temp and fan sensors is through
IPMI, since there's no thermal section in 'sysctl hw.acpi'.
I've tried freeipmi out of ports (hangs) and ipmitool appears
ard, and a customer came along asking for 30 some servers to be ordered
"yesterday". The servers themselves work OK otherwise, for the most part.
FWIW, this particular IPMI problem would not have appeared at all if we
only ordered one server, since multiple servers are tryin

We ordered a whole batch of servers which have the IPMI 2.0 board (I am
pretty sure). When they first come online they seem to have the M
